Version 2.7.0
What's new in Intake 2.7.0
Siri logs for you: food, water, weight, calories left and your fast, by voice, from Spotlight or from Shortcuts, on your own foods on the device. Your foods show up in Spotlight. On iOS 27 rows go with a swipe, recipe ingredients can be reordered, and layouts adapt to wide screens. iOS only
Siri logs for you
Say “Log food in Intake”. Siri asks which food, you say “oats”, and the oats are in your diary without opening the app. “Log water in Intake”, “Log my weight in Intake”, “How many calories do I have left in Intake”, “Start a fast in Intake” and “End my fast in Intake” work the same way.
Your foods, your device. Siri searches your own foods: favourites, own products and what you logged recently. Everything runs on the iPhone; nothing goes to a server. By voice, Intake logs 100 g into the meal that fits the time of day, and water as 250 ml. Amount and meal are yours to set in the Shortcuts app.
A weight in your unit. Siri asks for the weight. Say “74.5 kilos” or “164 pounds” and Intake logs it and reads it back in the unit you used.
In Shortcuts too. All six actions sit in the Shortcuts app under Intake and can go into your own flows, for instance reading the morning weight off the scale and logging it. The Siri phrases come in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch and Portuguese.
Your foods in Spotlight
Pull down on the home screen and type the name of a food you have logged before. The result opens Intake straight on the serving screen. Intake hands your library to Spotlight after launch and after every entry, at most once a minute, and only on your device.
On iOS 27 the same library also answers the system’s search: Siri can search and open your foods, and when you point the camera at a dish with Visual Intelligence, Intake suggests matching foods from your library.
Swipe to remove
Rows in favourites, recents and library go with a swipe to the left on iOS 27. The long press with its context menu stays, on iOS 26 as well.
Ingredients in your order
Tap Edit in a recipe’s ingredients and drag them into place. The order is kept in the recipe view and when logging.
Built for iOS 27
The soft fade under every bar stays soft instead of turning into a hard edge on iOS 27. Layouts adapt to wider screens: more tiles per row on an iPad, long text at a readable width, and date pickers open at a medium height instead of following the screen height. Intake still runs on iOS 26.
Bug fixes
iOS
- With Display Zoom or large text on a smaller iPhone, a logged food could not be changed or deleted: the buttons in the bar had collapsed into a menu that did nothing. Delete, More and Save are now labelled and stay visible.
- The bar on the Today page shows a glyph with a label instead of the translated “Today” button, which did not fit the bar in some languages.
You can find the full changelog here.
Thank you for using Intake.
